Live-Action Dreamcast: Skyrim (Elder Scrolls V)

Live-Action Dreamcast: Skyrim (Elder Scrolls V)

In honor of Skyrim’s 10th year anniversary, we’ve decided to release our idea of a live-action Skyrim cast. As for this list, we’re mostly going to cover the various factions and characters involved. This will only appeal to you if you’re a fan of the game.

PS: I defiantly want to hire cast members from History Channel’s Vikings, not the main actors, but definitely fish side characters.

The Civil War Factions

At the time your game starts you are caught in the middle of a civil uprising between the Stormcloaks, named after the Jarl of wind helm Ulfric Stormcloadk, and the remnants of the Imperial court, who are now puppets under the Elven Thalmor. Officially a civil war, the Jarls loyal to the Empire are being backed by the empire’s legion led by the military governor of Skyrim General Tullius. From the start of the game you are caught between these factions and it is up to you to decide whether you’re a rebellious Stormcloak or a loyal Imperial.

With the Empire weak and fracturing, forced into an unfavorable treaty with the High elves of the Aldmeri Dominion, storm cloaks desire Skyrim’s independence, but racist towards non-Nords, Elves in particular. The spark of this would be the banning of worship to Talos who were the Nord’s version of Odin.

I can imagine this cast for a prequel where Ulfric’s revolt begins and Tullius takes command.

Ulfrick Stormcloak, Jarl of Windhelm – Joakim Nätterqvist

Galmar Stone-Fist – Conan Stevens

Balgruuf, Jarl of Whiterun – Moe Dunford

General Tullius – Clive Owen

The “late” High king Toreg – Danila Kozlovsky

Elisif the Fair, Jarl of Solitude – Jodie Comer

The Companions

The most popular group in the entire game is The Companions.  Headquartered in Whiterun’s Great Hall of Jorvaskor, they are a warrior society with Kodlack as their de-facto leader. Their inner circle can transform them into werewolves. Your main quest involves finding all the pieces of the ax, Wothred, that once belonged to the companion’s founder Ysgramor. At the same time, the companions are locked in a war with the Silver Bloods who hate werewolves and vow their annihilation.

Note: I’m aware of other companions characters I’ve missed, Including Tormar and Atheis. Im only including the ones that mattered the most in the story.

Vilkus – Liam McIntyre

Farkus – Manu Bennett

Yes, I know we made a Spartacus reunion, but I would love to bring back their dynamic as real brothers this time

Aela the Huntress – Millie Brady

Kodlak Whitemane, Harbinger – Graham McTavish

Skjor – Mark Strong

Eorlund Gray-Mane – Liam Cunningham

The Blades

Are an order of dragonslayers that helps you guide Skyrim’s history to investigate why the dragons are coming back. You actually encounter Delphine early on as the innkeeper in Riverwood. On the way, you rescue Espern who was imprisoned by the Thalmor because of his knowledge of dragon history.

Delphine – Robin Wright

Esbern – Patrick Stewart

Sidenote: Had Esbern’s voice veteran actor Max von Sydow were still alive, I would have cast him

Dawnguard

In one DLC you can join an order of vampire hunters known as The Dawnguard. This ancient order led by Isren is fighting a powerful vampire Clan the Volkihar led by Lord Harkon.  Harkon’s desire is to cloud Tamriel in darkness by destroying the sun using a mythical weapon, Aerials bow.

Isran, Leader of the Dawnguard – Idris Elba

Gunmar, Troll Trainer – Thorbjørn Harr

Sorine Jurard, Crossbow maker/artifacts collector – Ragga Ragnars

Archeanist Florentius Baenius – Regé-Jean Page

Serana – Katherine Langford

Lord Harkon – Dominic West

The Dragons

In this game Dragons are effectively gods and they are led by a time-traveling world eater named Alduin, who is essentially the main antagonist of the whole game, or at least the highest-profile should you choose to follow that quest. The only dragon that’s a match is his old ally turned enemy and your mentor Paarthurnax, who hides on High Hrothgar leading a cult called the Greybeards. Often In cases like this, I may just hire the same voice actors, but because I’ve got quotas to fill.

Alduin – original voice actor Daniel Riordan

Paarthurnax – Daniel Davis

Thieves Guild (honorable mention)

Okay I haven’t played the Thieves guild all that much, but I believe this actor would be perfect for this role, I know I’m changing character designs a little but the one down here looks more like a guild boss than the one they have for Mercer Frey.

Mercer Frey, Head of the Thieves Guild – Gustaf Skarsgard

I’m aware there are so many other factions and characters not listed, but Skyrim is a MASSIVE universe, and we blew our casting budget about 2/3 back.
